How MilBenefits collects, uses, stores, and lets you delete your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

Account details you provide (email, display name, and optional military profile such as branch and pay grade), financial figures you enter into our planning tools (income, assets, debts, goals), and—only if you choose identity verification—government ID photos, address details, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. We also collect crash and diagnostic data through our error-reporting provider to keep the app stable.

2. How We Store & Protect It

Your data is stored in our managed Supabase (PostgreSQL) backend with row-level security so each account can only access its own records. Authentication tokens are kept in the device secure keystore. Uploaded identity documents are stored in a private bucket scoped to your account. No transmission over the internet is ever 100% secure, but we apply industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.

3. How We Use & Share It

We use your information to operate the app, personalize benefit guidance, and process optional identity verification through manual review. We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the app (such as our cloud database host and crash-reporting provider) and only as needed to deliver the service. We never share your identity documents with third parties without your explicit request.

4. Identity Verification

Identity verification is optional. If you submit documents or personal details for verification, they are stored in a private storage bucket scoped to your account and reviewed by our team. Verification status cannot be self-approved in the app; only administrators may mark an account as verified after review.

5. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You can edit your profile at any time in Settings. You may permanently delete your account and all associated data directly in the app from Settings > Delete Account. Deletion removes your profile, financial records, uploaded documents, and login credentials and cannot be undone.
